About

Rockcastle County Area Technology Center. It is one of 50 area technology centers in the state. The building is owned and maintained by Rockcastle County Board of Education. Rockcastle County High School is the only feeder school served at RATC. RATC is state funded and governed by the Kentucky Department of Education Office of Career and Technical Education. Most staff members are state employees. Teachers have KTRS retirement and are credentialed like other teachers (KY EPSB, Rank I, II and III). They are required 25 hours of professional development per year to renew their certificates. All our programs have nationally recognized certifications such as: ASE, AWS, TRACK Electricity, MOS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, NOCTI Health Core, and KY Board of Nursing. We offer three student organizations (FBLA, HOSA, and Skills USA) which are integrated into the curriculum and mandated by Perkins V. Rockcastle ATC partners each year with Somerset Community College to provide dual credit opportunities free of charge to our students. The school is accredited nationally by Advanced Ed SACS-CASI. Rockcastle ATC students have the opportunity to complete a career pathway in one of several high demand sectors.  Additionally, they can earn program completion certificates and industry recognized certifications.
