After studying volume, 5th grade students created a “Volume Zoo” by selecting an animal and building a 3-D model using boxes.

RES would like to thank Mrs. Hurst for her 27 years of dedicated service to the students and families of RES. Throughout her time here, she has been a true example of dedication, compassion, and excellence. Her impact on our school community will be felt for years to come. Last week Ms. Jessica Bullock was recognized by The Modern Woodmen Of America as a Teacher Hometown Hero. They gifted her students with new books to add to her classroom library, a gift to add to her classroom resources, and beautiful flowers! They are also making a donation to the charity of Ms. Jessica's choice, which was Roundstone's Snack Pack Program. RES sure does have the best teachers as Ms. Jessica exemplifies! Congratulations!!!!

Our students have enjoyed learning about some of Kentucky's Derby Day traditions, and a few of the students want to start their own family tradition, making no-bake horse cookies in honor of the Kentucky Derby! The kindergarten classes at Roundstone Elementary participated in our annual Stick Horse Derby today. Students created their own derby silk design, raced on stick horses, and enjoyed cupcakes and drinks. It was a day filled with fun and traditions unique to Kentucky. (Special thanks to Berea Walmart Bakery for the cupcakes.)
